Not revolutionary but you can now measure on google maps (desktop version only). This is useful for locations where Council doesnt have GIS or online maps, or where you need to measure from an up to date aerial. To measure right click on the point on the map where you want to start your measurement, then click where you want to measure to. What features of google maps do others find useful?
